Three years to BMW 6-Series Gran Tourer

BMW has shared its launching plans with one of the car periodicals.

6-Series is going to consist of the whole range of body modifications incorporating, among others, a Gran Tourer option. It means that the current 5-Series will be topical for another three years. Gran Tourer will be a derivation from GranCoupe, with a tailgate on the electrical drive, low height and absence of railing.

The model will compete with a similar Mercedes-Benz offering and will be marketed a tad higher compared to the 5-Series counterpart in terms of pricing. All the cars of the latter series will be made lighter-weight and adopt V4, V6 and V8 propulsions. Probably a compact V3 will also join the ranks, but to date the clients’ feedback regarding it is rather negative.
