Release of 10-Speed Gearbox from VW Coming Soon

Having prepared the public for the exciting event, Volkswagen keeps disclosing new details.

Now the fans of the brand will have a better idea on what to expect from the upcoming release of 10-speed automatic gearbox technology. Dual-clutch transmission will accommodate the latest MQB developments put on a range of VW Group vehicles. These are going to be four next saloons and SUVs.

Twin-clutch gearbox will support both 2WD and 4x4 layouts and be mated with V4 to V6 promising to display a minimal torque figure of 370 lb-ft. Research and development boss of the German brand has also shared his plans. They include the emergence of turbo V4 engines working on diesel fuel. What has already been dubbed EA288 is essentially a twin-turbo with the displacement of 2.0 litres packing 240 hp and torque of 369 lb-ft. The first auto to test it will be the upcoming Passat derivative. DI propulsion developing 280 hp and astonishing torque of 400 lb-ft has also been announced.
