Next Mazda2 to Rival MINI Cooper
The Japanese company reports that next year’s Mazda2 will be aimed at creating a market competition to MINI Cooper and Citroen DS3.
Advertising campaign for the vehicle which has already started implies that the car will enrich the Verisa line-up and will generally resemble Mazda2 with a more fashionable layout. European office deals with the design of the model and promises to increase the size of it compared to existing Verisa.
Some auto magazines indicate that a more powerful modification can be made and supplied with SKYACTIV-D propulsion with 2.2-litre volume.
Due to lack of confirmed information only release date suggestions can be made. Thus, 2015 Mazda2 might be presented as a concept car first next year in Geneva and the production variant might follow in early 2016.
