Limited American Order for the New i8 from BMW

Powerplant of high-specification race creation of BMW is meant to please, but very few Americans will have access to this hybrid of turbo V3 and electric motor rated at 357 hp together.

In three months i8s will hit the dealerships, but the order for the USA consists of hardly half a thousand of units. On the other hand, there is also a close counterpart from the competing carmaker – in this case it is Porsche 911 GT3 with its price reminding of BMW novelty. If some customers think that $136,625 is too high of a price tag for a modestly equipped car, probably a 4.2-second spring to 60 mph can change their minds.

Such quickness is supplied by light weight due to the application of carbon fibre. Apart from that, BMW i8 seems to be a spare fuel consumer. Official conclusions of environmental experts have not been made public yet, so one has to believe the company stating its vehicle to last for 94 mpg.
