Hatchback for Mazdaspeed2 Mulled Over

New Mazda2 is only waiting to bow to the world, and the carmaker has already broken the news about creation of the more powerful hatchback.

Wise decision has been made by the executives of the brand who opted for production of a hot hatch modification of the new variant mid-cycle. Namely, it was the marketing manager of Mazda who confided to one of the car journalists that he would not refuse to see a performance series offering made for the new product. It has also been calculated that the most likely market rival of the high-spec vehicle would be a similar Ford Fiesta car.

A lot of work will have to be invested in development of the hatchback. For instance, the Japanese company will have to modify and reinforce chassis of the standard type. Nowadays it can only be concluded that the mentioned hot hatch is the only new line-up vehicle discussed in the brand’s headquarters. Late autumn debut is planned for Mazda2 at the local show, while stateside premiere is going to be conducted in 2015.
