Another Leakage of Volkswagen Golf R Variant

Spies have been exceptionally prolific this week and managed to deliver another photoset of Volkswagen Golf VII R Variant.

Promising to fulfil the dreams of large families, Volkswagen prepares a popular R modification of Golf VII. Though this highly advertised model has not received an official confirmation of production start, it can possibly debut in early 2015 and cost about €40,000.

The company decided to equip the vehicle with a reliable powertrain presented by a V4 turbo for 2.0 litres making decent 300 hp and torque of 280 lb-ft. Drive selection is four-wheel and gearbox of choice comes in two variations – a manual standard for six speeds or special direct shift one. Golf VII R Variant will make use of an advanced coupling system optimizing the power capacities.

Certain design features will distinguish the prototype from the hatchback. They include remodelling of exhaust system making pipes more compact and elegant. At the same time, the aggressive charm of R package will be retained, and a more satisfying driving experience will be guaranteed by lower suspension characteristic to a sports car and stylish dark alloy wheels.

Confirmation of production plan for the prototype will most likely mean a Parisian presentation in autumn and dealership release by the end of the year.
