i8 Spyder from BMW to Be Produced Soon
A sports car i8 from BMW with an electric motor will reach the dealerships next spring, and a convertible variant will appear at the end of 2015.
Bimmersport forum states that i8 Spyder is already approved by the company and will hold the capacity and chassis of a standard model. The engineers packed it with a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine with three cylinders and 231 hp and mated the package with an electric motor for 131 hp, which totals to 362 hp capacity and torque of 420 lb-ft.
The concept of the new car has already been presented and revealed the same design features as the standard variant but for a roof. Close resemblance to the coupe model can also be featured in i8 Spyder.
