Next-Gen Toyota Corolla Planned With Combustion, Hybrid, PHEV, and EV Powertrains

Toyota is developing the thirteenth-generation Corolla with a four-zone electrical architecture designed to support pure combustion, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and full battery-electric powertrains. The compact model will also benefit from a lighter and more efficient new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine alongside a bold exterior inspired by last year's concept car.
