First electric BMW M3 to retain its legendary name

BMW has officially confirmed that the first all-electric sport sedan will be named M3 instead of using the iM3 index. The electric novelty will feature an advanced quad-motor powertrain theoretically capable of producing up to 1,341 horsepower, with the base version expected to deliver around 700 horsepower. It will be built on the Neue Klasse platform and sold alongside a redesigned mild-hybrid petrol version.
