The second-generation Volvo S80 (factory code AS) debuted at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show on the Ford EUCD / Volvo P3 platform. Manufactured as a 4-door sedan (and long-wheelbase S80L for China), it introduced advanced security tech like Personal Car Communicator (PCC) with heartbeat sensors and adaptive cruise control.

Powertrains spanned 1.6/2.0 four-cylinders, 3.2 and 3.0 T6 inline-sixes, and a flagship 4.4-liter V8 delivering 315 hp co-developed with Yamaha. Diesels covered D2 through D5 engines. Facelifts in 2009 and 2013 added revised chrome detailing, TFT digital displays, and 2.0 Drive-E engines.
