Volkswagen Touran I (1T) gallery (2003–2015)

The first-generation Volkswagen Touran compact MPV with platform code 1T was introduced in early 2003. It holds the distinction of being the first vehicle built on Volkswagen's PQ35 platform, shared with the Golf Mk5. Designed for family practicality, the Touran offered five-seater or seven-seater configurations with individually folding and removable second-row seats. The model underwent two significant facial updates in 2006 (1T2) and 2010 (1T3), which refreshed its exterior lighting, front grille, and dashboard controls to align with modern corporate aesthetics.

Engine options for the Touran 1T spanned naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engines, early 1.4 TSI twincharged units, 2.0 FSI engines, and turbodiesel 1.9 TDI and 2.0 TDI variants. A natural gas EcoFuel model was also available. Transmissions included five- or six-speed manuals and DSG dual-clutch automatics. In 2007, Volkswagen introduced the CrossTouran variant, featuring raised ground clearance, rugged body cladding, and larger alloy wheels.
