VAZ Lada Samara II (2113 / 2114 / 2115) gallery (1997–2013)
A comprehensive restyling of the classic Samara lineage with streamlined bodywork, modernized cabins, and fuel-injected engines.
The second-generation Lada Samara series, widely known as Samara-2, was engineered as a comprehensive modernization of the first front-wheel-drive platform from Togliatti. The rollout began with the VAZ-2115 sedan in 1997, followed by the VAZ-2114 five-door hatchback in 2001 and the VAZ-2113 three-door hatchback in 2004. Exterior styling received a rounded aerodynamic front fascia with narrower headlamps, integrated body-colored bumpers, integrated side moldings, and a redesigned trunk lid on the sedan. Inside, the platform gained a significantly refined ergonomic dashboard (Euro-panel), adjustable steering column, and improved heating controls. Under the hood, the entire range transitioned exclusively to multi-point fuel-injected 8-valve four-cylinder engines, starting with the 1.5-liter unit and later upgraded to the 1.6-liter engine conforming to Euro-3 and Euro-4 emissions standards, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Samara-2 remained popular across Russia and CIS markets until the final hatchback rolled off the assembly line in December 2013.
