The fourth-generation Vauxhall Corsa (E) arrived in late 2014. While retaining the fundamental hardpoints of the SCCS architecture, every single exterior body panel was replaced, the suspension geometry was completely redesigned, and the steering received an electric speed-sensitive rack with City mode. The styling adopted Vauxhall’s contemporary corporate identity inspired by the Adam city car, featuring a sculpted grille and blade-themed bodysides. Inside, a redesigned dashboard housed the IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment system compatible with modern smartphone mirroring. Under the bonnet, the headline addition was GM’s all-aluminium 1.0-litre three-cylinder direct-injection turbo SIDI engine (90 or 115 hp), mated to a slick six-speed manual gearbox. Other engines included 1.2 and 1.4 naturally aspirated petrols, a 1.4 Turbo, a refined 1.3 CDTI diesel, and the flagship Corsa VXR pushing 205 hp from a 1.6 Turbo. In 2018, Vauxhall also revived the warm Corsa GSi variant.
