Toyota Tacoma IV (N400) photos

The fourth-generation Tacoma (N400) was unveiled in May 2023. The pickup is built on the new global body-on-frame TNGA-F architecture, shared with the Tundra and Land Cruiser. This significantly improved chassis rigidity and ride comfort, aided by the introduction of a multi-link coil-spring rear suspension for higher trims (base models retained leaf springs). The engine lineup was completely overhauled: the V6 was replaced by a 2.4-liter turbocharged i-FORCE four-cylinder, available in various states of tune from 228 to 278 hp. Transmissions include a new 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual with rev-matching technology.

The most significant innovation was the i-FORCE MAX hybrid system, featuring an electric motor integrated into the transmission housing. The hybrid powertrain delivers a combined output of 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. The interior was radically redesigned with a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment screen up to 14 inches, and the latest Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite. A new extreme off-road trim called Trailhunter was introduced, featuring upgraded ARB suspension and factory-installed overlanding equipment.
