Subaru Impreza VI (GU) gallery (2022–present)
The sixth generation Impreza is offered exclusively as a five-door hatchback featuring a stiffer chassis and an 11.6-inch infotainment system.
Revealed in November 2022, the sixth-generation Impreza (GU code) transitioned to an exclusively five-door hatchback body layout. Utilizing an enhanced Subaru Global Platform with full inner-frame construction and structural adhesives, the chassis achieved a 10% gain in torsional stiffness along with reduced cabin noise. Engine offerings comprise a 2.0-liter FB20 flat-four (154 hp), a 2.5-liter FB25 (185 hp) reserved for the RS trim, and e-Boxer hybrid options. The engineering setup effectively combined the low center of gravity inherent to the horizontally-opposed engine layout with a rigid chassis frame, delivering precise handling and composure across dry pavement and slippery surfaces alike. Engine bay packaging ensured optimal front-to-rear axle weight distribution alongside efficient thermal cooling under sustained driving loads.
Interior updates feature a vertical 11.6-inch Starlink touchscreen display, while the upgraded EyeSight safety suite adds a wide-angle mono camera to the stereo camera setup. All configurations utilize Lineartronic CVT with active torque vectoring Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard equipment. Designers placed a strong emphasis on cabin ergonomics, occupant visibility, and long-distance driving comfort. Robust mechanical reliability across the drivetrain and suspension components helped establish this generation as a benchmark choice within its competitive market segment worldwide.
