The Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II was a prestige long-wheelbase variant of the Silver Shadow II, distinguished by its extended passenger cabin and signature Everflex vinyl roof.
The second-generation Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, manufactured between 1977 and 1980, served as the exclusive long-wheelbase variant of the acclaimed Silver Shadow II luxury saloon. Built upon an advanced steel monocoque platform, the vehicle combined unyielding structural rigidity with superb sound insulation and ride comfort. Compared to the standard wheelbase Silver Shadow II, the Silver Wraith II featured a chassis extended by four inches (100 mm) to provide generous rear-seat legroom, standard Everflex vinyl roof covering, and a smaller rear window designed to enhance rear passenger privacy. The car was powered by the distinguished all-aluminum 6.75-litre Rolls-Royce V8 engine, paired with a smooth three-speed General Motors Turbo Hydramatic TH400 automatic transmission. Upgrades over the previous generation included a precise rack-and-pinion steering system, a revised front suspension geometry, and a sophisticated split-level automatic climate control system. Total production remained limited, with vehicles delivered primarily to dignitaries, chauffeured executives, and discerning luxury clientele across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East.
