The second-generation Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn, produced from 1993 to 1998, revived a legendary historic nameplate for a distinctive luxury four-door saloon. Engineered on the proven platform of the Silver Spirit and Silver Spur family, this model featured a long-wheelbase chassis that offered exceptional rear-passenger space and refinement. Under the hood, it carried the traditional 6.75-litre naturally aspirated Rolls-Royce L-Series V8 engine equipped with electronic fuel injection, engineered for whisper-quiet operation and effortless torque. The powertrain was mated to an electronically controlled GM 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission. Compared to earlier platform iterations, the Silver Dawn introduced modern electronic traction control, an advanced anti-lock braking system, and auto-leveling adaptive hydropneumatic suspension. Mid-cycle production updates in 1995 brought revised Zytek engine management and subtle styling refinements shared with the contemporary Silver Spur IV. Initially launched as a special offering for the North American market, the Silver Dawn was later distributed in limited numbers to customers in the United Kingdom, Europe, and select international luxury markets.
