The first-generation Rolls-Royce Ghost, designated by the factory code RR4, debuted in 2009 as a slightly more compact and driver-focused alternative to the flagship Phantom. The luxury sedan was constructed on an extensively re-engineered BMW F01 platform, utilizing high-strength steel and aluminum alongside a sophisticated multi-link air suspension system with active anti-roll stabilization. It was powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 570 horsepower, coupled with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission that later integrated Satellite Aided Transmission technology. The lineup offered both standard and Extended Wheelbase (EWB) variants, alongside the high-performance Black Badge edition delivering 612 horsepower. In 2014, the Series II refresh introduced redesigned adaptive LED headlights, sculpted front bumpers, updated seating geometry, and an upgraded infotainment suite.
