Rivian R1T I gallery (2021–2023)
The first generation of the Rivian R1T electric pickup truck, designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the skateboard platform.
The first generation of the Rivian R1T pickup was built on a modular skateboard platform, integrating the battery, motors, and suspension into a single chassis unit. The vehicle featured a quad-motor powertrain with an independent electric motor for each wheel, providing sophisticated all-wheel drive with precise torque vectoring. Customers could choose from several battery pack capacities, delivering an EPA-estimated range of up to 500 kilometers. The truck measures 5470 mm in length and incorporates a unique gear tunnel behind the cab for specialized storage solutions.
The interior was characterized by premium materials, a digital instrument cluster, and a large central infotainment screen. An adaptive air suspension system with adjustable ride height allowed for up to 360 mm of ground clearance, enabling significant off-road capability. Throughout its production, the vehicle received software updates and thermal management improvements that paved the way for the second generation. This version established the brand's reputation as a manufacturer of high-tech, performance-oriented electric vehicles specifically engineered for adventure and outdoor lifestyle use.
