About this generation

A rear-engined and rear-wheel-drive city car developed jointly with Smart.

The third generation radically changed its layout, moving the engine under the trunk floor, providing phenomenal maneuverability and a tiny turning radius. The car received a five-door body with hidden rear handles and a Z.E. electric version.
