The first generation of the Renault Niagara was officially presented in 2026, marking a pivotal milestone in the automaker's global product initiative. The vehicle is engineered on the RGMP modular architecture, which is also shared with the Kardian and Boreal crossovers. Overall length measures 4,912 mm for the front-wheel-drive model and 4,942 mm for the all-wheel-drive version, built upon a 2,956 mm wheelbase. The 4x4 configuration features 233 mm of ground clearance, a 938-liter cargo bed volume, a maximum payload capacity of 654 kg, and a towing rating of 710 kg. As a completely new vehicle, it establishes the debut generation for the model lineup.

Under the hood, the first-generation Niagara features a 1.3-liter turbocharged TCe four-cylinder petrol engine producing 270 Nm of torque. In front-wheel-drive guise, it generates 156 hp and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. The all-wheel-drive variant delivers 160 hp and works in tandem with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Inside, the cabin features dual 10-inch screens and an AI-supported infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, alongside advanced safety technologies including autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep assist.
