The first-generation Mitsubishi Diamante (F10 and F20 series) launched in May 1990, winning the 1990-1991 Japan Car of the Year award. Featuring frameless door glass, it was offered as a sedan and station wagon. Engineering of the Diamante I (F10) (factory code F10) emphasized high structural rigidity, aerodynamic efficiency, and optimized interior spatial packaging.
