3About this generation
The second-generation MG ZS emerged with an athletic new design language and a potent Hybrid+ petrol-electric powertrain.
The second-generation MG ZS was officially unveiled in August 2024, debuting initially across European and Australasian markets as the MG ZS Hybrid+. Underpinned by SAIC's updated compact modular platform, the crossover grew in overall length, width, and wheelbase, yielding superior interior passenger space and boot capacity. Visually, it embodies MG's contemporary design direction with a wide lower grille, aggressive front bumper splitters, and slim full-LED lighting signatures. The core powertrain is the Hybrid+ self-charging architecture combining an Atkinson-cycle 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric drive motor, a 1.83 kWh battery pack, and a three-speed dedicated hybrid automatic gearbox, producing a cumulative 196 hp. The modernized cockpit incorporates a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, a 7-inch digital driver display, connected navigation services, and an extensive suite of MG Pilot active safety systems as standard equipment.
