The first generation of the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV is built upon the bespoke AMG.EA (AMG Electric Architecture), marking the brand's inaugural independently developed electric crossover. Unlike existing utility vehicles such as the EQE SUV and EQS SUV based on the standard EVA2 platform, this model is engineered from the ground up as a dedicated performance machine. The body features a sleek, coupe-like five-door silhouette engineered with active aerodynamic systems, substantial track widths, and advanced lightweight materials to optimize structural rigidity.

The powertrain utilizes a tri-motor configuration integrating innovative axial-flux electric motors developed by YASA, combined with a high-density traction battery featuring direct cell cooling. Operating on an 800-volt electrical architecture, the vehicle supports ultra-fast direct-current charging rates exceeding 600 kW. The chassis incorporates active suspension technology, rear-axle steering, and torque vectoring capabilities, ensuring sports-car agility and stability that significantly differentiate this bespoke AMG creation from conventional electric SUVs.
