Mercedes-AMG prepares ground-up electric GT SUV on AMG.EA architecture

Mercedes-AMG is developing its first independently engineered electric SUV, constructed on the bespoke AMG.EA architecture rather than adapting an existing model. The performance crossover features an 800-volt electrical system, directly cooled battery cells, and a tri-motor layout utilizing YASA axial-flux motors. Its sister sedan platform offers up to 1,153 horsepower and fast-charging capability surpassing 600 kilowatts, previewing the caliber of engineering planned for this full-size vehicle.
