About this generation

Second generation Mercedes-Benz Citan compact van (W420), winner of International Van of the Year 2022, available as the electric eCitan.

The second-generation Mercedes-Benz Citan (chassis code W420) premiered in August 2021, winning the International Van of the Year 2022 award. Developed alongside the Renault Kangoo III, the W420 features distinct Mercedes exterior aesthetics, MBUX infotainment with natural speech voice recognition, and advanced driver assistance systems.

Configurations comprise the Citan Panel Van, Citan Tourer, and the upscale T-Class passenger derivative. Engine choices feature 1.5-liter turbodiesels and 1.33-liter turbocharged gasoline engines paired with 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmissions. The line was expanded with the electric eCitan, featuring a 45 kWh battery enabling a WLTP range up to 285 km.

2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC400 EV achieves 356-mile highway range and 3.7-second 0–60 mph in instrumented test

Instrumented testing of the 483-hp dual-motor 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC400 4Matic EV recorded a 0–60 mph sprint of 3.7 seconds and a 70-mph highway range of 356 miles from its 94.0-kWh battery, surpassing its 350-mile EPA rating. Equipped with air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and a 39.1-inch Hyperscreen, the tested vehicle carried an as-tested price of $85,450.

Mercedes-AMG Develops Next C63 With Both Gasoline and Electric Powertrains

Mercedes-Benz CTO Jörg Burzer confirmed that Affalterbach is developing both internal combustion and battery-electric powertrains for future 63-badged models as the four-cylinder plug-in hybrid C63 exits production. In the meantime, an interim C53 featuring a 443-hp 3.0-liter inline-six engine is expected to take its place.

Replacing the four-cylinder GLC43 and GLC63 models, the 2027 Mercedes-AMG GLC53 4Matic+ pairs a 443-hp 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with all-wheel drive and rear-axle steering. In instrumented testing, the SUV hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and outperformed the BMW X3 M50 xDrive and Audi SQ5 on the figure-eight course and in braking.

MotorTrend evaluated the refreshed seventh-generation 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which incorporates around 2,700 new or revised parts and a standard 39.0-inch Superscreen. Equipped with a new 530-hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo flat-plane-crank V-8, the S580 4Matic sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.
