Lexus SC II (Z40) gallery (2001–2010)

The second-generation Lexus SC luxury convertible (chassis code Z40) debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2000, entering production for the 2002 model year as the SC 430. Inspired by luxury yachts of the French Riviera, the vehicle featured an all-aluminum power-retractable hardtop that folded into the trunk in 25 seconds. The hand-crafted cabin incorporated supple leather, polished walnut or maple wood trim with power-closing wood covers, and a custom Mark Levinson sound system.

Power was delivered exclusively by a 4.3-liter 3UZ-FE V8 engine producing 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, paired initially with a five-speed automatic and upgraded to a six-speed automatic in 2005. A 2005 facelift introduced redesigned alloy wheels, updated front bumper styling, revised grille detailing, and clear LED taillights until production ended in 2010.
