The third-generation Lexus LX full-size SUV (chassis code J200) premiered at the New York International Auto Show in April 2007 as the LX 570. Built on the Land Cruiser 200 frame, it featured 4-Wheel Adaptive Height Control (AHC) suspension, Crawl Control off-road assistance, and Multi-Terrain Select. In 2015, Lexus introduced the LX 450d powered by a 4.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 diesel engine delivering 268 horsepower for global markets.

The core gasoline model retained a 5.7-liter 3UR-FE V8 producing 383 horsepower and 403 lb-ft of torque, paired initially with a six-speed and later an eight-speed automatic. Full-time 4WD operated via a Torsen limited-slip differential. The J200 underwent three facelifts in 2010, 2012 (adding the spindle grille), and an extensive 2015 overhaul restyling almost every exterior panel, adding LED triple-beam headlights and a 12.3-inch display screen.
