About this generation

The second generation of the Kia Soul inspired by the Track'ster concept, featuring the all-electric Soul EV and 1.6 T-GDI turbo. The model combines proven engineering reliability, refined.

The second-generation Kia Soul (PS) premiered at the 2013 New York Auto Show, drawing styling cues from the Track'ster concept including a floating backpack rear tailgate element. Built on an updated B-segment platform with 29% greater torsional stiffness, its wheelbase extended to 2,570 mm. Interior enhancements included circular speaker towers, a panoramic sunroof, and an 8-inch UVO infotainment screen. This generation of the Soul (PS) was produced from 2013 to 2019 and offered in hatchback body styles. Built on an engineered platform, it features strong structural rigidity, refined aerodynamics, and advanced occupant safety engineering.

Engines comprised 1.6-liter MPI/GDI (124-132 hp) and 2.0-liter Nu GDI (164 hp) petrol engines, a 1.6L CRDi diesel (136 hp), and a punchy 204-hp 1.6L T-GDI turbo for the Soul Sport. The all-electric Soul EV debuted in 2014 with a 109-hp motor and a 27-30 kWh battery pack providing up to 212 km of range. A 2016 facelift added subtle exterior body styling revisions. The powertrain lineup features modern engines optimized for thermal efficiency, balancing responsive acceleration with economical fuel consumption. Power is delivered through reliable manual or automatic transmissions. Mid-cycle updates introduced modernized LED lighting graphics, premium cabin materials, and enhanced active driver assistance suites.
