The fifth-generation Isuzu Gemini, manufactured from 1997 to 2000, continued the badge-engineering partnership with Honda based on the Domani. Offered exclusively as a four-door sedan, the MJ4 generation featured 1.5-liter and 1.6-liter petrol engines paired with manual, automatic, or continuously variable transmissions, along with front-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations. Compared to its predecessor, it introduced refreshed exterior styling, upgraded interior trims, and enhanced safety features such as standard ABS. Minor equipment updates were rolled out during its production run. Marketed primarily in Japan, this generation marked the final chapter of Isuzu passenger cars before the brand completely exited the segment to focus entirely on trucks and SUVs.
