Launched in June 1990, the second-generation Isuzu Aska marked a radical shift as it became a badge-engineered variant of the Subaru Legacy due to inter-corporate agreements. The sedan featured Subaru's signature horizontally-opposed gasoline engines with 1.8 and 2.0-liter displacements, offering both front-wheel-drive and full-time all-wheel-drive layouts paired with manual or automatic transmissions. Sold exclusively through Isuzu's domestic Japanese dealership network alongside its SUV lineup, this generation enjoyed a relatively short market run. Production of the second-iteration Aska concluded in May 1993 following the expiration of the joint manufacturing and supply contract with Subaru.
