Honda CR-V II (RD4-RD9) photos

The second-generation Honda CR-V (RD4–RD9) debuted in September 2001, based on the seventh-generation Civic global platform with front MacPherson struts and rear reactive-link suspension. Body dimensions grew, maximizing cabin volume and cargo space while retaining the under-floor folding picnic table and adding a dash-integrated handbrake lever.

Powertrains introduced K-series engines with i-VTEC technology: a 2.0-liter K20A4 (150 hp) and a 2.4-liter K24A1 (160 hp). European markets gained Honda's 2.2-liter i-CTDi turbodiesel (140 hp) in 2005. A 2004 mid-cycle facelift updated front lights, grille styling, 17-inch alloy wheels, and cam-driven Real Time 4WD reaction speed.
