Holden Statesman IV (WM) gallery (2006–2010)

The fourth and final generation of the flagship sedan, engineered on the bespoke GM Zeta rear-wheel-drive platform.

Launched in 2006, the WM-series Holden Statesman represented the fourth and final generation of the iconic luxury nameplate, engineered from the ground up on GM's multibillion-dollar Zeta global rear-wheel-drive architecture. Unlike prior iterations, the WM series featured completely unique exterior sheet metal and distinct proportions that clearly differentiated it from the short-wheelbase VE Commodore. The powertrain lineup featured the advanced 3.6-liter Alloytec High Output V6 (195 kW) and the formidable 6.0-liter Gen IV V8 (L98/L76) producing 270 kW, mated to five-speed and six-speed automatic transmissions. The WM boasted class-leading chassis rigidity, electronic stability control, and whisper-quiet cabin insulation. Facing shifting consumer trends away from traditional large sedans, Holden retired the Statesman nameplate in 2010, consolidating the extended-wheelbase lineup under the Caprice banner. The platform was also exported globally as the Chevrolet Caprice to the Middle East and Buick Park Avenue to China.
