Holden Caprice IV (WM/WN) gallery (2006–2017)
The fourth generation of the Holden Caprice built on the full-size Zeta platform and exported globally as a police cruiser and flagship sedan.
The fourth-generation Holden Caprice was unveiled in 2006, riding on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM Zeta rear-wheel-drive architecture with an extensive 3009 mm wheelbase. Distinct sheet metal, an imposing chrome grille, and a lavishly equipped interior set it apart from smaller Holden sedans. Engine options spanned the 3.6-litre Alloytec and SIDI direct-injection V6 engines, a dedicated LPG V6, and GM's 6.0-litre Gen IV V8 engines (L98 and L77 with Active Fuel Management) delivering up to 362 hp, backed by heavy-duty six-speed automatic gearboxes. The WN series in 2013 introduced an opulent redesigned cabin, head-up display, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision alert, and electric power steering. The WN Series II in late 2015 received the 6.2-litre LS3 V8 producing 408 hp. The WM/WN platform was a major export success, sold as the Chevrolet Caprice in the Middle East and as the Chevrolet Caprice PPV police vehicle in North America until Holden factory operations ended in 2017.
