Ford Ikon II gallery (2007–2015)

The second-generation Ford Ikon is a subcompact sedan based on the Fiesta Mk5 platform produced in South Africa from 2007 to 2015.

The second-generation Ford Ikon was launched in South Africa in 2007. It was a rebadged version of the fifth-generation Ford Fiesta 4-door sedan (Mark V / Mark 5.5) produced locally at the Silverton / Port Elizabeth manufacturing facilities. The model filled the entry-level budget sedan segment below the imported Fiesta Mark VI.

Powertrains comprised a 1.6-liter 16-valve Sigma gasoline engine (100 hp) and a 1.4-liter Duratorq TDCi turbodiesel (68 hp) mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Known for low operational costs, generous rear seat room, and crisp steering response, the Ikon remained in South African production until 2015.
