Ford Ikon I gallery (1999–2011)

The first-generation Ford Ikon was introduced in late 1999 in India as a notchback sedan derived from the European Fiesta Mark IV hatchback. Engineered specifically for developing markets, it was manufactured in India, South Africa, Mexico, and China. Upgrades included heavy-duty suspension tuning, extended rear legroom, and a large trunk space.

Power engines included a 1.3-liter Endura-E, a 1.6-liter ROCAM inline-four (92 hp), and a 1.8-liter Endura-D naturally aspirated diesel. In 2008, the model received a major facelift adopting kinetic front styling and a 1.4-liter TDCi turbodiesel engine. Indian assembly continued until 2011 when it was replaced by the Ford Figo.
