Daewoo Matiz I Рестайлинг (M150) gallery (2000–2018)
A thorough facelift of the first generation that gained iconic budget status across developing markets.
In late 2000, Daewoo introduced an extensive revision of the original city car under the factory code M150. This generation received redesigned front-end styling with circular headlights, turn signals integrated cleanly into the front bumper, modified body cladding, and updated taillights. Inside, the M150 featured updated dashboard elements and improved upholstery materials. Crucially, the powertrain lineup expanded beyond the standard 0.8-liter three-cylinder engine to include a brand-new 1.0-liter four-cylinder S-TEC unit delivering 63–64 horsepower, significantly improving highway performance. Transmission offerings included the standard five-speed manual gearbox and a smooth four-speed Jatco automatic transmission. While replaced earlier in South Korea and Western Europe, production of the M150 continued at the UzDaewoo plant in Uzbekistan until 2018. It became an overwhelming sales hit across CIS markets, lauded for its exceptional fuel efficiency, reliability, low running costs, and effortless maneuverability in crowded urban environments.
