Changan CS55 I gallery (2017–2021)

The debut generation of the Changan CS55 compact crossover gained widespread global popularity due to its balanced handling and modern technological equipment.

The first generation Changan CS55 compact crossover debuted at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show and remained in production until 2021. Built on Changan proprietary unibody platform, the model featured a transverse engine layout with an independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup. The exterior design demonstrated modern proportions with a bold front grille and sculpted side character lines. Power came from a 1.5-liter Blue Core turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 156 horsepower, paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission. All versions sent power exclusively to the front wheels. In 2020, the brand introduced the fully electric CS55 EV variant, equipped with a 218-horsepower electric motor and a battery pack delivering up to 403 kilometers of range under the NEDC cycle. Interior features included an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, and synthetic leather upholstery. The vehicle was sold across China, the Middle East, Latin America, and CIS markets, establishing a strong reputation for urban comfort and practical utility.
