Changan Benni II gallery (2014–2023)
The second-generation Changan Benni produced from 2014 to 2023 featured sharp youthful styling, modern cabin tech, and the successful electric E-Star variant.
Debuting at the Guangzhou Auto Show in late 2013 and entering production in 2014, the second-generation Changan Benni introduced a complete redesign. The hatchback adopted sharp body character lines, a sporty front bumper, and vibrant dual-tone interior themes. Built on an updated front-wheel-drive chassis with a extended 2,410 mm wheelbase, it offered improved stability and interior room. Petrol models were powered by a 1.4-liter BlueCore engine outputting 101 horsepower, paired with a five-speed manual or an automated manual transmission (AMT). In 2020, the line transitioned into the fully electric Benni E-Star featuring a 75-horsepower electric motor and a lithium battery pack delivering up to 301 km of driving range. The E-Star cabin incorporated dual connected digital displays, a rotary gear selector, and smart connectivity. The model remained a top-selling budget EV in China until overall production ended in 2023.
