About this generation

First generation mid-size luxury crossover Cadillac XT5 engineered on the C1XX platform to succeed the SRX featuring advanced engineering solutions.

The first generation Cadillac XT5 debuted in late 2015 and went on sale for the 2017 model year replacing the SRX. Built on GM's lightweight C1XX platform, it shed nearly 280 pounds compared to its predecessor. The crossover featured elegant exterior proportions, vertical LED light blades, a spacious five-passenger cabin with sliding and reclining rear seats, and Cadillac CUE capacitive touchscreen controls. The exterior design incorporates distinctive body proportions, sharp character lines, and an iconic front grille featuring the brand's emblem. Global power derived primarily from a 3.6-liter LGX naturally aspirated V6 producing 310 horsepower with cylinder deactivation, alongside a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder in select Asian markets. Initially paired with an 8-speed automatic, a 2020 refresh introduced a 9-speed automatic transmission, refined trim options, and a Sport model featuring active twin-clutch all-wheel drive. Standard and optional equipment included advanced active and passive safety systems, multi-zone climate control, and upgraded interior electronics.
