Cadillac Series 61 II gallery (1941–1941)

The second-generation Cadillac Series 61 (1941) returned to the lineup introducing fully integrated fender headlamps and a wide horizontal grille.

The second-generation Cadillac Series 61 was offered for the 1941 model year (Series 41-61) following a one-year hiatus. Built on GM's revised B-body platform with a 126-inch wheelbase, it embraced torpedo body proportions. Exterior styling introduced fully integrated headlights set into broad front fenders, alongside a full-width horizontal front grille. Body styles included a four-door sedan and a sleek two-door fastback coupe. The Torpedo-style body featured an all-steel roof structure, curved glass windows, and polished rocker panel moldings. The interior offered rich broadcloth upholstery and plush seating cushions.

Propulsion was supplied by the 346 cubic-inch (5.7-liter) Monobloc V8 producing 150 horsepower. A major innovation for 1941 was the optional 4-speed Hydra-Matic fully automatic transmission alongside the standard 3-speed manual. Mechanical equipment featured hydraulic drum brakes and coil-spring independent front suspension.
