Cadillac CTS III (Alpha) photos

The third generation Cadillac CTS debuted at the 2013 New York International Auto Show built upon GM's acclaimed rear-wheel-drive Alpha platform. Dimensionally extended by 5 inches in length to enter the mid-size executive segment against the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the CTS achieved a lighter curb weight than its rivals through extensive use of aluminum door structures and extruded chassis components. Available solely as a four-door sedan, it boasted a perfect 50:50 axle weight distribution and signature vertical LED daytime running light blades. The exterior design incorporates distinctive body proportions, sharp character lines, and an iconic front grille featuring the brand's emblem.

Powertrain options featured a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four (272 hp), a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 (335 hp), and the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 CTS V-Sport generating 420 horsepower. The halo performance CTS-V model was powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 outputting 640 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque, enabling a top track speed of 200 mph. Power was managed by 6-speed, 8-speed, or 10-speed automatic transmissions with available active AWD. Standard and optional equipment included advanced active and passive safety systems, multi-zone climate control, and upgraded interior electronics.
