Buick Regal V (Epsilon II) gallery (2008–2017)

The fifth-generation Buick Regal represented a total reinvention of the nameplate, utilizing GM's sophisticated global Epsilon II platform shared directly with the European Opel Insignia. Featuring an exceptionally rigid unibody structure, available HiPerStrut front suspension, and multi-link rear setup, it transformed the Regal into a driver-focused sports sedan. It first went on sale in China in late 2008 before returning to the North American market for the 2011 model year with assembly in Oshawa, Canada. The powertrain lineup centered around efficient four-cylinder engines: a naturally aspirated 2.4L Ecotec (182 hp), an eAssist mild-hybrid setup, a 1.6L turbo in China, and a 2.0L twin-scroll turbocharged direct-injected Ecotec producing up to 259 hp in the high-performance Regal GS. Transmissions included 6-speed automatic units and a rare 6-speed manual gearbox on early North American GS models, with optional Haldex all-wheel drive. A major 2014 model year facelift brought restyled bumpers, upgraded LED lighting, and the IntelliLink infotainment system across North American and Chinese markets.
