Buick La Crosse III gallery (2016–2023)

The third-generation Buick LaCrosse was built upon General Motors' advanced lightweight E2XX modular architecture, shedding approximately 300 pounds while improving structural rigidity and cabin space. Taking styling cues from the acclaimed Buick Avenir concept, the full-size sedan offered a sleek profile with a lower roofline and a modernized front fascia. In North America, the primary engine was a 3.6-liter LGX direct-injected V6 delivering 310 horsepower with cylinder deactivation, later complemented by a 2.5-liter mild-hybrid eAssist four-cylinder. Power was routed through eight-speed and later nine-speed automatic transmissions (GM 9T65), available with front- or twin-clutch all-wheel drive. In 2018, Buick introduced the ultra-luxurious Avenir sub-brand trim. While North American production ceased in 2019 due to market shifts toward SUVs, production flourished in China under SAIC-GM, receiving a comprehensive facelift in 2019 with 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged engines through 2023.
