The second generation of the full-size crossover underpinned by the lightweight C1XX architecture with a nine-speed automatic.
The second-generation Buick Enclave was unveiled at the 2017 New York Auto Show and launched for the 2018 model year. Migrating to General Motors' modular long-wheelbase C1XX architecture, the redesigned crossover shed nearly 400 pounds compared to its predecessor while increasing interior room and structural rigidity. In North America, the vehicle utilized a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter LFY V6 engine producing 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, mated exclusively to a nine-speed Hydra-Matic 9T65 automatic transmission. Drivetrain options included front-wheel drive and a sophisticated twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system. The second-generation Enclave was also the first model to introduce Buick's flagship luxury sub-brand, Avenir. A comprehensive mid-cycle refresh arrived for the 2022 model year (delayed from 2021 due to pandemic disruptions), bringing a sharper front fascia with slim upper daytime running lights, a revised lower grille, redesigned taillights, a push-button electronic gear selector, and an expanded suite of active driver-assistance systems.
