About the model

The first-generation RS6 (C5/4B) was produced from 2002 to 2004 as both a sedan and an Avant wagon. Developed with a 4.2-liter biturbo V8, a five-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox, and permanent quattro all-wheel drive, it debuted the hydraulically linked Dynamic Ride Control suspension system.

The second generation (C6/4F), produced from 2008 to 2010, was also built as a sedan and wagon. It housed an all-aluminum 5.0-liter twin-turbo V10 with dry-sump lubrication coupled with a reinforced six-speed automatic transmission. Distinctive blister fenders and integrated LED daytime running lights marked its aggressive exterior styling.

The third generation (C7/4G), spanning 2013 to 2018, transitioned exclusively to the Avant wagon body style. Downsizing introduced a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 with cylinder-on-demand technology, linked to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission. A facelift added Matrix LED headlamps, updated bumpers, and an upgraded infotainment interface.

The fourth generation (C8/4K), manufactured from 2019 to the present day in Avant form only, features a 48-volt mild-hybrid biturbo V8, all-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, and a bespoke widebody shell utilizing front lighting elements derived from the A7 lineage.
