Debuting in late 1990 for the 1991 model year, the second-generation Acura Legend (KA7 sedan / KA8 coupe) advanced Acura's status in the executive segment. Featuring a longitudinally mounted V6 engine powering the front wheels, the design achieved balanced weight distribution and sleek proportions. Luxury features included soft-close vacuum doors on coupe models and power memory seating. Engineering priorities for this generation focused on structural rigidity, chassis refinement, and elevating active safety capabilities.

Power came from a 3.2-liter C32A1 V6 engine producing 200 horsepower. In 1993, Acura introduced the high-output Type II engine variant generating 230 horsepower, paired with a new 6-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic. A mild 1994 restyle updated the front bumper air intakes and taillight lenses before being succeeded by the Acura RL.
