Camouflaged Lexus LS Was Tested

Paparazzi have spied the next-gen Lexus LS. It was hidden under lots of camouflage.

The vehicle was tested in the desert. Design should be very similar to the sharp-edged LF-LC concept seen at 2015 Motor Show held in Tokyo.

The LS is almost 10 years old. It definitely needs some upgrade in order to stand in line with such vehicles as the BMW 7 Series, next-gen A8 or Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The new angular shape of Lexus will look bolder than the shape of its European rivals. The future sedan will have lots of cool stuff inside the cabin. There probably will be gesture controls and a digital instrument panel.

The new model will have the same chassis as the LC coupe. The rear-wheel-drive unit will have the identical eight-cylinder and hybrid six-cylinder powertrains. Reports suggest that the 4WD will be optional. In 4 years the company will add a fuel cell variant.

The new LS will be presented in January at the NAIAS held in Detroit. It will be marketed in summer of 2017.
