Lexus IS Continues its Legacy with Exciting Updates for 2026
As we bid farewell to a chapter in automotive history, the 2026 Lexus IS will be the first model year to exclude the renowned 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V-8 engine, a staple since the inception of the 2007 IS F. Contrary to initial fears that the compact sports sedan might be discontinued altogether, Lexus confirms its continued presence in the lineup with the refreshed IS 350 model.

Performance and Trims
Scheduled for release early next year, the new IS 350 will be available in two distinct trims: F Sport and F Sport Design. Both trims are powered exclusively by a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V-6 engine, delivering 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Enthusiasts can choose between an eight-speed automatic transmission for rear-wheel-drive variants or a six-speed automatic for all-wheel-drive models.
Exterior Enhancements
Both trims feature subtle aerodynamic tweaks to emphasize the sedan's sleek and sporty profile. The F Sport trim distinguishes itself with a newly designed rear spoiler, optional red brake calipers, and refreshed styling for the 19-inch aluminum wheels. Additionally, a new exterior color named Wind—a sophisticated light-gray with metallic accents—joins the available palette, which includes Ultra White, Iridium, Cloudburst Gray, Caviar, Infrared, and Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0.
Interior Upgrades
Inside, the 2026 IS 350 boasts a standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen complemented by a new 12.3-inch digital dashboard display. The standard 10-speaker audio system can be upgraded to a premium 17-speaker Mark Levinson setup for audiophiles. The center console is refreshed with Lexus's signature "forged bamboo" accents, adding a touch of natural elegance.
Connectivity and Convenience
Modern connectivity needs are met with a standard wireless charging pad and four USB-C ports—two positioned above the charging area and two located at the rear of the center console for passengers.
