Trademarks for New Jaguar Land Rover EVs
Jaguar Land Rover wants to obtain three new trademarks on the continent.
The automaker has filed for Velar, I-Pace and I-Type. These trademarks appeared on the OHIM’s Web-site.
According to AutoGuide.com, the producer is developing EVs of the existing offerings. There are XE sedan and F-Pace crossover among them. Jaguar has already mentioned that the F-Pace is the first candidate for a fully-electric version to rival with the Tesla Model X crossover. It looks loke the I-Pace nameplate may be intended for this car.
In case this is so, the I-Type badge will be used on a fully-electric F-Type sports vehicle.
Speaking of Velar, it must be mentioned that it is the same of a basic Range Rover pre-production prototype. “Velare” means “to cover” or “to veil” from Italian.
Electric powerplants have been used by Jaguar (do you remember its experience with the C-X75 supercar?) The new Zero Emission Vehicle legislation accepted in California will demand an EV. Seven other states have also adopted these requirements.
